MTV recently announced that they will be paying for the funeral of former Buckwild reality star Shain Gandee.
We previously reported on Monday that the MTV star was found dead in a car with his uncle and a third male after being reported missing for more than 24 hours. Gandee and the two others died of carbon monoxide poisoning while off-roading in West Virginia in GandeeĆ¢s Ford Bronco.
According to Fox News, GandeeĆ¢s family had been struggling to pay for the funeral. The family was putting together a mud-run competition in order to raise money to pay for the ceremony. The event will take place on Wednesday in Proctorville, Ohio, just 50 miles Charleston, West Virginia. Admission for the event is $10.
Parallel Entertainment CEO J.P. Williams, who produces the show with Zoo Productions, told TMZ that the show reminded him of his childhood in West Virginia. Producers will help cover the cost of the funeral.
It is still unclear how much money Gandee made from being on the MTV show.
