SAN DIEGO -- It's Dean Norris Day at Comic-Con.

Of course, that's not the official name, but today might as well have been named for the actor, who had panels for Breaking Bad and Under the Dome just a couple of hours apart.

Norris was still getting used to fan responses at the convention when he spoke to USA TODAY.

"People come up and go, 'I'm addicted to your show.' I'm assuming it's Breaking Bad and they tell me it's Under the Dome," he said. "There's some crossover (in fans), but it's also different" viewers.

Norris plays DEA agent Hank Schrader on Bad and Councilman James "Big Jim" Rennie on Dome.

It was a handoff day for Norris. AMC's Bad was making its last appearance at Comic-Con as the final episodes approach (Aug. 11, 9 p.m. ET/PT), while CBS' Dome (Monday, 10 p.m. ET/PT) became an instant summer hit when it launched in June.

( Dome hasn't been renewed, but executive producer Brian K. Vaughan made a second-season pickup sound pretty likely when he told fans at the panel that the season finale ends with a cliffhanger. He also told them that doesn't have the same ending Stephen King novel.)

"It's fun to see how Under the Dome already has captured a huge fan base, The numbers show that, but you don't get a sense of that when filming in Wilmington, (N.C.). When you come here, you go, 'Wow!' " Norris said. " Breaking Bad already has a good fan base here."

He learned that at the show's Comic-Con panel last year.

"It was incredible. We didn't quite understand the level of fandom. When they announced us and we all walk out, it was like being in The Rolling Stones," he said.

The end of Bad hasn't totally sunk in for Norris, who hopped on a plane to the Dome set in North Carolina the same day he finished shooting the AMC series.

"It was good to have something else to delve into," he said of the new role.
