Man sets off explosives at Beijing airport

A man set off homemade explosives at the Beijing International Airport on Saturday, Chinese state media reported.

Citing witnesses, China's official Xinhua news agency reported a loud explosion was heard at the airport's Terminal 3 at 6:24 p.m. local time Saturday.

State-run China Central Television says on its microblog that the man was injured and sent to a hospital after setting off the bomb. It says no one else was injured, no flights were affected and order has been restored at the airport.

The BBC reported the man was in a wheelchair when he detonated the device.
