Jordan Nolan reached a two-year, $1.4 million contract on Sunday, becoming the third member of the Los Angeles Kings to settle before his salary arbitration hearing.
Hearings open Monday and 10 of the 21 players who filed already have reached deals.
Under arbitration, each side submits a requested salary, and cases are based on player performance and salaries of comparable players. An arbitrator can choose either salary or a figure between. Teams can't walk away from any award less than $3.5 million.

Most times, the sides settle early because of the uncertainty.
First up is Edmonton Oilers center Sam Gagner, who finished second on his team with 38 points in 48 games. That would be 65 points over a full season. He had scored between 40 and 50 points in his first five seasons.
