The actor/rapper reportedly wants to devote more time to his music career
Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino has reportedly reduced his role on Community. Glover, who has played Troy Barnes on the US sitcom since it began in 2009, will appear in just five of the 13 episodes planned for season five, says Vulture. The cult comedy series revolves around a motley crew of adult students at a community college in the fictional town of Greendale, Colorado.Glover apparently wants to devote more time to his recording career as Childish Gambino. His last album, 'Camp', came out in 2011 and peaked at Number 11 on the US charts. Last year, he guested on 'Trouble', a UK Top Ten hit by former X Factor champion Leona Lewis. In addition, Glover is currently developing a sitcom loosely based on his own life with Matt Hubbard, executive producer of 30 Rock. Season five of Community will premiere on US network early next year (2014). Chevy Chase quit the show last November (2012) but longtime cast members Ken Jeong, Joel McHale, Alison Brie and Danny Pudi are all confirmed to return.
