Lil Wayne has released the music video for his new single "God Bless Amerika" - but the rapper's flag-trampling footwork didn't make the director's cut.
In June the controversial rapper faced backlash after a clip from his New Orleans video shoot showed Wayne, 30, stepping on an American flag as he danced back and forth.
"I didn't step on the flag on purpose!" Wayne declared on Twitter after the incident made waves.

The strong imagery caused a stir in part because the unpatriotic display seemed to fit well with the contentious lyrics.
"My country 'tis of thee/ sweet land of kill 'em all and let 'em die/ God bless America/ This so godless America ... the stars on the flag are never shining," Wayne raps.
The clip garnered thousands of online comments and views, many calling for the rapper to apologize.

"It's a scene in a video where the flag drops behind me and after it drops, it's just there as I perform," he clarified at the time.
The final version shows just that. The large red, white and blue flag drops to reveal Wayne standing in front of a large crowd of people - but the camera only shows him from the waist up.
