The forty second clip, which was unveiled as teaser for a Comic-Con panel on the movie, shows a brief close-up of Foxx as the eerie villain, his body strapped into a sparking machine.

"I can feel it in the walls. I feel it in my veins," Foxx says in an ominous voiceover. "No matter what you do doc, you can't contain it. You want to know how powerful I am? Well I want to know too. I'm Electro."

In the comic books, Electro gains the power to control electricity after being hit by a lightning bolt. In the new film, he will come up against Peter Parker, played by Andrew Garfield, as the hero struggles to balance crime-fighting with his relationship with Gwen Stacey, played by Emma Stone.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2," which is set for release on May 2, 2014, also features Paul Giamatti as the Rhino and Dane DeHann as Harry Osborn.
